Erika Taylor Bowie
Instructor
Erika trained at the Sacramento Ballet, the San Francisco Ballet, and at the Milwaukee Ballet School under scholarship. She went on to dance as a trainee at the Milwaukee Ballet. She also trained in New York during the summers under Marjorie Mussman and at STEPS on scholarship with Peff Modeiski. Miss Bowie danced professionally at Arizona Dance Theatre, performing as a soloist in The Nutcracker, La Bayadere, Bach Sonata, and various works created by Jean Paul Comelin. She was promoted to Principal at Charleston Ballet Theatre, where she danced for 10 years. She originated roles, including Titania from Midsummer’s Night Dream, as well as Zingari, Carmen, Juliet, Cinderella, Lucy from Dracula, and Slaughter on Tenth Avenue. She has also danced roles in George Balanchine’s Allegro Brillant, Tarantella, and Concerto Barrocco. Miss Bowie has over 30 years of teaching experience, including holding the position of Ballet Mistress for the Montgomery Ballet.
David Richards
Instructor
David Richards began his dancing under Iacob Lascu at the Lascu School of Ballet in Bloomfield Hills, MI. While earning his degree in Industrial Design at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, he also danced on full scholarship at the ballet school and performed in many full scale ballets, including The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, and the opera Aida and performed as a guest performer with the National Ballet of Canada as part of Lascu’s performing company. After obtaining his Industrial Design degree, David attended the Pacific Northwest Ballet School as a full scholarship summer student and accepted their invitation to study year round where he performed with the company in their Nutcracker. David’s professional career included dancing for San Jose Cleveland Ballet, Hartford Ballet, and other engagements after relocating to the Bay Area.
David began teaching ballet in 2006 where he discovered a passion for helping students of all ages and levels grow as dancers. He currently teaches ballet at the San Ramon Valley Dance Academy and at Jazz N’ Taps as well as teaching visual arts at the Vallejo Charter School and Mare Island Health and Fitness Academy.
Victoria Joyce

Victoria (Tori) Joyce grew up in Vacaville where she studied with the Vacaville Ballet Academy for 16 years. She was a VBC Company member for 7 years, ending her career as a Principal dancer in 2016. During her training, she attended the American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive where she was taught by ABT instructors and performed with the corps de ballet in Swan Lake. Upon graduation from Will C. Wood High School, Tori attended California State University, Channel Islands, where she received a BS in Environmental Science and Resource Management (ESRM), a minor in Political Science, and graduated Cum Laude. Her passion for the environment led her to work with multiple environmental non-profits, including the Putah Creek Council, Ventura Audubon Society, and the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History Sea Center. She also started a Creekwalk Clean Up committee for the VBC Company Members to earn their community service hours. After graduation, Tori worked for the National Park Service as their Biological Science Technician (emphasis in Forestry) for Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. She currently lives in Vacaville and hopes to continue working with non-profits in the future.
Jules Magistrado
Instructor
Jules started dancing ballet at the age of 5. She trained for 13 years at Benicia Ballet, as well as attending multiple summer intensives. At Benicia Ballet, Jules performed the role of Cinderella in Cinderella, the Songbird Fairy and Silver Jewel in Sleeping Beauty, as well as other roles as part of the corps de ballet in Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Coppelia, and Carnival of the Animals. Jules has developed a passion for teaching, working as a teaching assistant and choreographer at Benicia Ballet for several years. Since graduation, she continues to dance ballet and contemporary, as dance will always be her passion.
Chloe Thornbrugh

Chloe began training at the Vacaville Ballet Theatre at the age of 6. In 2013 she joined the Vacaville Ballet Company, performing her favorite roles of “First Mate” in “Mutiny!”, “Snow Queen” from “the Nutcracker”, and the “Wicked Witch” from the “Wizard of Oz”. She attended summer intensives such as American Ballet Theatre, Ballet West, and Kaatsbaan Extreme Ballet Intensive, where she was able to receive training from professional dancers including Sascha Radetsky, Stella Abrera, Kathryn Morgan, Katlyn Addison, and many more. She was also able to receive training from ABT’S director Kevin Mackenzie, and Martine van Hamel. She was accepted to Nashville Ballet companies’ pre professional training program in 2020.
